Father Marquette Memorial Park This beautiful 2-acre active recreation area is nestled in the outer harbor area, and is well protected by the harbor breakwaters. Be sure to visit the Father Marquette memorial marker, commemorating Marquette's visit to these shores in 1674. The park features: Pioneer Park Located right on Lake Michigan at the intersection of Lake and Kilbourn Streets, Pioneer Park has a truly wondrous view and a wide sandy beach. A great spot to bring the kids, excellent walking and swimming available.
