April 11. 2007 Special Meeting Minutes OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Jeanquart, Alderman Blaha, Vollenweider, LuMaye, Crabb, Zenner, Muellner, Rabas, Schneider Absent: None Others: Administrator Kranz, Willard Kickbusch, Public Works Director Balleine, Dick and Norma Bell, Chris Brown, Barb Ludlow Mayor Jeanquart called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. The main purpose of the meeting is to fill the unexpired term of Mayor Jeanquart ending April 15, 2008. Mayor Jeanquart asked for nominations from the floor. Alderman Vollenweider nominated Alderman John Blaha. Muellner moved and Schneider seconded that nominations be closed and that a unanimous vote be cast to appoint Alderman Blaha as Mayor. Motion carried unanimously. Administrator Kranz administered the oath of office to newly appointed Mayor John Blaha. Mayor Blaha assumed his seat as Mayor to conduct the remainder of the meeting. With a vacancy now existing in Aldermanic District 1, LuMaye moved and Schneider seconded to authorize advertising to fill the vacancy at the May 14, 2007 Council meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Schneider moved and Zenner seconded to approve the issuance of a Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s License to Kewaunee Fire Department Auxiliary Inc., Brat Fry, May 11, 2007. Motion carried unanimously. At this time, newly appointed Mayor Blaha on behalf of the Council and himself expressed thanks and appreciation to Mayor Darin A. Jeanquart for his seven years service as Mayor and his prior years of service as Alderman for Aldermanic District 2. His presence will be missed by all.
