August 10, 2009 Regular Meeting Minutes
OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, Vollenweider, LuMaye, Kunkel, Zenner, Jeske, D. Kickbusch, Sperber Others: Administrator Kranz, Public Works Director Balleine, City Attorney Wolske, Kim Schmeling, Cheri Laing, Nick Ritz, Jim Gayhart, Pat Pichotta, Kurt Rentmeester Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation. Pat Pichotta appeared before the Council and presented a $1,000 check to City for Skate Park improvements. This money was raised by the kids to help in providing for equipment at the park. The Council thanked the kids and Pat for the donation. The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of July 13, 2009. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s License to: - Kewaunee Area Chamber of Commerce, August 5, 2009, SAGBRAW Bike Tour - Kewaunee County Economic Development Corp., August 27, 2009, Luau by the Lake Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the ordering and purchase of a 2009 Ford E-450 MEDTEC PD-168 Ambulance from Foster Coach Sales, Inc. in the amount of $125,666. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the retaining of a 3rd ambulance recognizing that ambulance replacements would be extended out to 6-7 years. Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the July 2009 Accounts Payables in the amount of $308,094.60. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of July 29, 2009. The Council received the Personnel Committee minutes of July 21, 2009. The Council received the Plan Commission minutes of July 30, 2009. Jeske moved and Vollenweider seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of July 13, 2009. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Blaha informed the Council that an invite to visit and tour the Kewaunee Fitness Center after the meeting has been extended. D. Kickbusch moved and Vollenweider seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
