August 13, 2007 Regular Meeting Minutes

OFFICIAL MINUTES
OF THE
CITY OF KEWAUNEE COMMON COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 13, 2007

Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, Vollenweider, LuMaye, Brown, Zenner, Jeske, Rabas, Sperber

Absent: None

Others: Public Works Director Balleine, City Attorney Wolske, Ambulance Director Grulkowski, Barb Ludlow

Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation.

Mayor Blaha read for the record a thank you letter received from Golden House dated July 30, 2007.

The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of July 9, 2007.

Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the Operator’s Licenses as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the issuance of a "Class A" Liquor License to Simply Sweet German Bakery & Gifts, Caroline Baumberger, 314 Ellis Street. Motion carried Unanimously.

Zenner moved and Brown seconded to approve ratification of the Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s Licenses as submitted . Motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to recommend to approve the purchase of tables and chairs from the Ambulance Huchro Estate funds not to exceed $1,500. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the July 2007 Accounts Payables in the amount of $499,037.74. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of July 31, 2007.

Vollenweider moved and Kostka seconded to approve an engineer agreement with Ayres Associates in the amount of $2,500 as it relates to additional work for the Sewer Facility Plan. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Rabas moved and Kostka seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of July 9, 2007 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Upon Emergency Management Director Vollenweider reviewing with the Council the new Emergency Operations Management Plan, Rabas moved and Vollenweider seconded for approval. Motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider explained to the Council on the construction of a beach cleaning machine.

Jeske reported on her attendance at the last school board meeting.

LuMaye reported that there was no additional news with the Youth Club.

Kostka moved and Vollenweider seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
