December 10, 2007 Regular Meeting Minutes OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, Vollenweider, LuMaye, Brown, Zenner, Jeske, Rabas, Sperber Absent: None Others: Administrator Kranz, Public Works Director Balleine, City Attorney Wolske, Barb Ludlow Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation. The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of November 12, 2007. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the November 2007 Accounts Payables in the amount of $100,741.21. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Tourism Promotion Committee minutes of November 7, 2007. Rabas moved and Brown seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of October 8, 2007. Motion carried unanimously. Rabas moved and Sperber seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of November 12, 2007 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. LuMaye moved and Jeske seconded to approve the Special Council Meeting minutes of November 29, 2007 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. With discussion on the proposed charter ordinance appointing the city attorney, LuMaye moved and Rabas seconded to revise the proposed ordinance to provide for a two year appointment. Motion carried unanimously. Kostka moved and Zenner seconded to introduce the first reading of A CHARTER ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF CITY ATTORNEY. Motion carried unanimously. Vollenweider moved and Jeske seconded to enter into closed session at 7:17 p.m. pursuant to WI Statute 19.85(1)(e), deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session - acquisition of 97 Ellis Street. Motion carried unanimously. Alderperson Sperber departed the meeting at 7:48 p.m. Vollenweider moved and Jeske seconded to return to open session pursuant to WI Statute 19.85 (2) at 8:10 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
