REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 8, 2010

Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, Vollenweider, Kunkel, Zenner, Jeske, D. Kickbusch, Sperber

Absent: LuMaye (excused)

Others: Administrator Kranz, Public Works Director Balleine, Police Chief Salentine, Fire Chief Hlinak, City Attorney Wolske, Nick Ritz, Dennis Grulkowski, Kurt Rentmeester

Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation.

Police Chief Frank Salentine presented to the Council the 2009 Annual Police Report.

Fire Chief Greg Hlinak presented to the Council the 2009 Annual Fire Report.

The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of January 11, 2010.

Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s Licenses to:

- Holy Rosary Congregation, February 13, 2010, Mardi Gras Carnival
- Kewaunee Lions Club, March 20, 2010, Roar On the Shore Brew Fest, Hamachek Hall

Motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and Jeske seconded to approve the January 2010 Accounts Payables in the amount of $971,998.40. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Works Committee Minutes of January 26, 2010.

Vollenweider moved and Zenner seconded to approve the Garbage Collection Policy as recommended by the Public Works Committee. Motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Personnel Committee Minutes of January 20, 2010.

Jeske moved and Kunkel second to approve the 2010 Non-Union Employee Salary/Wage Schedule as submitted. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Plan Commission Minutes of January 28, 2010.

The Council received the Beautification Committee Minutes of February 2, 2010.

Zenner moved and Jeske seconded to approve the Flower Planting Proposal for downtown planters and maintenance for two seasonal plantings to Euclid’s Flowers & Greenhouses in the amount of $2,352. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider moved and Kostka seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of January 11, 2010. Motion carried unanimously.

D. Kickbusch moved and Sperber seconded to approve the Special Council Meeting minutes of January 19, 2010. Motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider moved and Kunkel seconded to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 993-10, RESOLUTION CERTIFYING AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY (Kewaunee Lighthouse). Motion carried unanimously.

Kostka moved and Jeske seconded to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 994-10, RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SCHEDULE OF DEPOSITS FOR MUNICIPAL CITATIONS. Motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider moved and Jeske seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
