January 10, 2005 Meeting Minutes OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Jeanquart, Alderman Blaha, Vollenweider, Abrahamson, Crabb, Rabas, Schneider
Absent: Schroeder (excused) Others: Public Works Director Balleine, Police Chief Salentine, City Attorney Wolske, Melody Lacey, Nathaniel Krogh, Barb Ludlow Mayor Jeanquart called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation. Mayor Jeanquart read District 3 Alderman John Griffith’s letter of resignation from the Council effective January 1, 2005. The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of December 13, 2004. Abrahamson moved and Blaha seconded to approve the issuance of a "Class B" Beer and Liquor License to Tyler Slack, TMJ Lanes, Inc., dba Kewaunee Bowl. Motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Crabb seconded to approve the award of bid for a 2005 Chevrolet Impala police vehicle from Jorn’s Chevrolet in the amount of $17,308.25. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Crabb seconded to approve entering into the Agreement with Packer Country Sports and Ports, Inc. and the Termination Agreement with The Lake The Land: Live Our Legacy, Inc. Motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Blaha seconded to approve the December 2004 Accounts Payable in the amount of $70,230.49. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
With the Public Works Committee meeting prior to the Council meeting, Schneider moved and Rabas seconded to approve the sale of the 1979 International Plow Truck to Kenneth Zuege in the amount of $2,880.00. Motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Public Property Committee minutes of January 5, 2005. Vollenweider moved and Crabb seconded to approve the construction of a stage at Harbor Park and cost participation with the Chamber of Commerce at a cost not to exceed $10,000 with funding coming from Room Tax Funds. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Vollenweider moved and Crabb seconded to approve authorization to prepare plans and specifications and to advertise for Bids for Contractual Mowing. Motion carried with Schneider abstaining. The Council received the Personnel Committee minutes of January 5, 2005. Blaha moved and Schneider seconded to approve the 2005 Non-Union Wage Schedule as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Blaha moved and Abrahamson seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of December 13, 2004 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Schneider seconded to authorize the advertising to fill the District 3 Alderman vacancy. Motion carried unanimously.
