Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation.

The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of June 9, 2008.

Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the Operator’s License as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the issuance of a Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s License to:

- Kewaunee Rotary Club Inc., July 11, 2008, Trout Fest

- Kewaunee Area Chamber of Commerce, July 12, 2008, (July 13th rain day) Off-Shore Fishing Challenge, Kewaunee Marina

Motion carried with Zenner abstaining on the Rotary Club license and Sperber abstaining on the Chamber of Commerce license.

Zenner moved and Brown seconded to approve the June 2008 Accounts Payables in the amount of $192,915.51. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of June 24, 2008.

Vollenweider moved and Kostka seconded to award the resubmitted 2008 Street Patching Bid to Bissen Asphalt at $1.36 per square foot. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider moved and Kostka seconded to award the 2008 Sealcoating proposal to Scott Construction in the amount of $18,855 plus fuel surcharge if necessary. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider moved and D. Kickbusch seconded to award the proposal for exterior water tower cleaning to Water Tower Clean & Coat, Inc. in the amount of $2,200. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Property Committee minutes of July 8, 2008.

LuMaye moved and Sperber seconded to approve the award of the Selner Park Restroom/Pavilion Construction Bids as follows:

Concrete/Masonry - Weidner Concrete Construction $19,982.00

Electrical - Oxbow Electric $ 1,610.66

Plumbing - Ihlenfeldt Plumbing $ 6,080.00

Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Tourism & Promotion Committee minutes of June 18, 2008.

Sperber moved and Jeske seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of June 9, 2008. Motion carried unanimously.

D. Kickbusch moved and LuMaye seconded to introduce the second reading and adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 556-08, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 78 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF KEWAUNEE, WISCONSIN, ENTITLED TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES (Authorizes use of Neighborhood Electric Vehicles). Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Mayor Blaha explained to the viewing public of this meeting the revised garbage sticker policy of stickers to be attached to bags only and not the container.

Mayor Blaha expressed his thanks to Pete Beane of Jorn’s Chevrolet for the use of a vehicle in the Trout Fest parade.

Vollenweider moved and Sperber seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
