March 9, 2009 Regular Meeting Minutes OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, LuMaye, Zenner, Jeske, D. Kickbusch, Sperber Absent: Vollenweider (excused) Others: Public Works Director Balleine, Ambulance Director Grulkowski, City Attorney Wolske, Mark Kunkel, Ron Fassbender, Librarian Sue Grosshuesch, Kurt Rentmeester Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation. Mayor Blaha read aloud 2nd District Alderman Chris Brown’s letter of resignation from the Council effective immediately due to his relocating his residence to Green Bay. Librarian Grosshuesch presented to the Council the 2009 Annual Library Report. The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of February 9, 2009. Zenner moved and Jeske seconded to approve the issuance of a Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s License to Kewaunee Hunting & Fishing Club, April 3, 2009, Holy Rosary Church, Trout Boil. Motion carried unanimously. No action was taken on the Chamber of Commerce support increase request due to no motion being made. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the February 2009 Accounts Payables in the amount of $1,320,927.57. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Tourism Promotion Committee minutes of February 11, 2009. Kostka moved and D. Kickbusch seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of February 9, 2009. Motion carried unanimously. Kostka moved and D. Kickbusch seconded to approve the Special Council Meeting minutes of February 4, 2009. Motion carried unanimously. Jeske moved and Zenner seconded to approve the conducting of a Sewer Infiltration Inflow Study amounting to approximately $18,000. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Mayor Blaha provided an update on the Klochner property with demolition hopefully to occur this Spring. Mayor Blaha reported on the meeting between himself and Administrator Kranz with the director of the Wisconsin Economic Recovery and Redevelopment agency for stimulus funding for the Sewer Facility renovation project. Mayor Blaha read a press release pertaining to the SAGBRAW bike tour coming back to Kewaunee again and the need for community involvement. Sperber moved and Jeske seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
