May 8, 2006 Meeting Minutes

Mayor Jeanquart called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation.

The Council received a letter from Fire Chief Hlinak indicating the appointment of Paul Nimmer as Assistant Fire Chief.

The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of April 10, 2006.

Vollenweider moved and Muellner seconded to approve the Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s Licenses as submitted . Motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider moved and Muellner seconded to approve the April 2006 Accounts Payables in the amount of $163,742.05. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of April 25, 2006.

Schneider moved and Blaha seconded to award the 2006 Tree Planting Bid to Willems Landscape Service Inc. at a cost of $195 per tree for a total of 25 trees. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Schneider moved and Rabas seconded to approve the purchase of a 2005 Snow Plow truck with plow and wing from Packer City International at a cost of $91,000. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Schneider moved and Rabas seconded to approve the hiring of Ryan Vandermoss, Lee Waechter and Justin Blaha as the 2006 Summer Hires. Motion carried with Blaha abstaining.

Schneider moved and Rabas seconded to approve the 2006 Sealcoating Bid to Scott Construction. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Plan Commission minutes of April 20, 2006.

The Council received the Beautification Committee minutes of April 18, 2006.

Zenner moved and Muellner seconded to approve the expenditure of up to $200 for the purchase of shrubs at the Welcome Sign. Motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and Muellner seconded to approve the expenditure of up to $700 for the equipment necessary to provide approved electrical connections on the Milwaukee Street poles for Holiday lighting. Motion carried unanimously.

Blaha moved and Zenner seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of April 10, 2006 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Blaha moved and Muellner seconded to approve the Reorganization Council Meeting minutes of April 18, 2006 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Muellner moved and Vollenweider seconded to approve the sale of the 1991 Horton Ambulance to the Casco Fire Department at a price of $3,000. Motion carried unanimously.

Vollenweider moved and Muellner seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
