October 12, 2009 Regular Meeting Minutes OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, Vollenweider, LuMaye, Kunkel, Zenner, Jeske, D. Kickbusch, Absent: None Others: Public Works Director Balleine, City Attorney Wolske, Nick Ritz, Harry Luedtke, Dennis Grulkowski, Police Chief Salentine Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation. Mayor Blaha read a letter received from Kim Schmeling and Cheri Laing stating their resignation as interim Ambulance Directors effective the end of the month. The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of September 14, 2009. Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the issuance of a Operator’s Licenses as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the issuance of a Garbage Hauler License to Estes LLC, dba Little Hoppers, Sturgeon Bay, WI. Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the September 2009 Accounts Payables in the amount of $92,998.66. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of September 29, 2009. The Council received the Plan Commission minutes of October 8, 2009. The Council received the Tug Ludington Committee minutes of September 24, 2009. D. Kickbusch moved and Kostka seconded to approve the appointment of Robert Witkowski, Robert Steffen and Aaron Secrest to the Committee. Motion carried unanimously. Vollenweider moved and Jeske seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of September 14, 2009. Motion carried unanimously. Sperber moved and Jeske seconded to introduce the first reading of ORDINANCE NO. 559-09, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF KEWAUNEE, WISCONSIN, ENTITLED "ZONING" (Sign amendments). Motion carried unanimously. Vollenweider moved and Kostka seconded to introduce the first reading of ORDINANCE NO. 560-09, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF KEWAUNEE, WISCONSIN, ENTITLED "ZONING" (Rezoning). Motion carried unanimously. Police Chief Salentine informed the Council of the recent boat fire at Salmon Harbor Marina and the incident is still being investigated and the cause is undetermined. Vollenweider moved and D. Kickbusch seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
