October 13, 2008 Regular Meeting Minutes

OF THE
CITY OF KEWAUNEE COMMON COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 13, 2008

Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, Vollenweider, LuMaye, Brown, Zenner, Jeske, D. Kickbusch,
Sperber

Absent: None

Others: Administrator Kranz, Marina Manager Luedtke, Public Works Director Balleine, Barb Ludlow

Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation.

The Council received the Finance Committee report of October 13, 2008.

Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the Operator’s License as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the issuance of a Temporary Class "B" Retailer's License to:

- Kewaunee Area Chamber of Commerce, October 3-4, 2008, October Fest

- Kewaunee Fire Department Auxiliary, October 24, 2008, Brat Fry

Motion carried with Sperber abstaining.

Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve a Fire Department Draeb donation expenditure of $3,000 towards the purchase of a thermal imaging camera. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the September 2008 Accounts Payables in the amount of $182,771.04. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of September 30, 2008.

The Council received the Public Property Committee minutes of October 8, 2008.

LuMaye moved and Brown seconded to approve the sale of the donated Akin property to Blonairz, LLC based on the offer to purchase submitted. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Plan Commission minutes of September 11, 2008.

The Council received the Beautification Committee minutes of October 2, 2008.

D. Kickbusch moved and Jeske seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of September 15, 2008. Motion carried unanimously.

Under public comment, Luedtke commented on how bad it was two new billboards recently erected within the City. Mr. Luedtke was informed that the Plan Commission and Council will be addressing this issue within the very near future.

Vollenweider moved and Kostka seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
