September 10, 2007 Regular Meeting Minutes OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Blaha, Alderman Kostka, Vollenweider, LuMaye, Brown, Zenner, Jeske, Rabas, Sperber Absent: None Others: Administrator Kranz, Public Works Director Balleine, Jamie Jeske, Barb Ludlow Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation. The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of August 13, 2007. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the Operator’s Licenses as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and Sperber seconded to approve the Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s Licenses as submitted . Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the August 2007 Accounts Payables in the amount of $520,397.92. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of August 28, 2007. Vollenweider moved and Kostka seconded to approve and authorize the advertising and filling of an Equipment Operator/Laborer and Water/Wastewater Plant Operatior I position vacancies. Motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Public Property Committee minutes of September 5, 2007. LuMaye moved and Kostka seconded to approve the selling of 7.42 acres of land donated to the City through a six month multiple listing with local realtors subject to the city assessor providing a market value of the property. Motion carried unanimously. LuMaye moved and Sperber seconded to approve the expenditure of $12,930 for fencing at Memorial Field. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Rabas moved and Jeske seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of August 13, 2007 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and Rabas seconded to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 968-07, RESOLUTION FOR URBAN FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM. Motion carried unanimously. Zenner moved and Kostka seconded to introduce the first reading of ORDINANCE NO. 550-07, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 78 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF KEWAUNEE, WISCONSIN, ENTITLED TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES (Operation of Neighborhood Electric Vehicles). Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Blaha asked for a motion to introduce the first reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 78 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF KEWAUNEE, WISCONSIN, ENTITLED TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES (Operation of All-Terrain Vehicles). Adoption of this ordinance died due to no motion being made. Sperber announced that on September 15, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, the Chamber of Commerce Beach Sweep will be held. Volunteers are being asked to report to Selner Park to assist in beach clean up as part of an international program in adopting beaches and cleaning up the environment. Mayor Blaha reported that the Fall Clean-up dates have been published and also that the Fire Department Memorial Re-dedication event went over very well.
