September 13, 2004 Meeting Minutes OFFICIAL MINUTES Present: Mayor Jeanquart, AldermanVollenweider, Abrahamson, Crabb, Griffith, Schroeder, Rabas, Schneider Absent: Blaha (excused) Others: Administrator Kranz, Public Works Director Balleine, City Attorney Wolske, Barb Ludlow, Police Chief Salentine Mayor Jeanquart called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation. The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of August 9, 2004. Abrahamson moved and Griffith seconded to approve the issuance of Operator’s Licenses as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Crabb seconded to approve the issuance of a Temporary Class "B" license to Holy Rosary, October 10, 2004, Fall Dinner. Motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Griffith seconded to approve the issuance of a Pool Table license to Kewaunee Bowl. Motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Griffith seconded to return to the State of Wisconsin the excess CDBG Housing Rehab funds with accumulated interest. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Abrahamson moved and Crabb seconded to approve the August 2004 Accounts Payable in the amount of $445,993.22. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Public Property Committee minutes of September 9, 2004. Vollenweider moved and Schroeder seconded to approve the Kewaunee Fresh Air Market use of the City parking lot area at the intersection of Milwaukee and Miller Streets beginning in 2005. Motion carried unanimously. The Council received the Plan Commission minutes of September 2, 2004. The Council received the Beautification Committee minutes of September 7, 2004. Rabas moved and Vollenweider seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of August 9, 2004 as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Schneider moved and Abrahamson seconded to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 940-04, RESOLUTION FOR URBAN FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM. Motion carried unanimously. Schneider moved and Vollenweider seconded to introduce the first reading of ORDINANCE NO. 530-04, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER SEVENTY OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF KEWAUNEE, WISCONSIN, ENTITLED "TAXATION". Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Jeanquart informed the Council that the City was awarded and received a $2,000 grant from the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation for skate park improvements.
