OF THE
CITY OF KEWAUNEE COMMON COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 14, 2009

Mayor Blaha called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. whereas the Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by meditation.

Sue Orr appeared before the Council and expressed her concerns on buildings within the City being razed without considering expending monies to preserve the buildings to a point where a responsible party would then improve it.

Elizabeth Runge, Ayres Associates appeared before the Council to review the completed Kewaunee Waterfront Plan funded through a 50% grant from the State. This plan was a result of meetings conducted with the Waterfront Plan Committee and public input.

Mayor Blaha read a letter received from the Office of Justice Assistance congratulating the City on a stimulus grant award of $4,690 for a police squad video camera. The grant application was completed and submitted by Police Officer Jim Kleiman.

The Council received the Finance Committee minutes of August 10, 2009.

Jeske moved and LuMaye seconded to approve the issuance of a Operator’s License as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.

Jeske moved and Sperber seconded to approve Temporary Class "B" Retailer’s License to:

- Kewaunee Fire Department Auxiliary, October 23, 2009, Fall Brat Fry

Motion carried unanimously.

Jeske moved and Sperber seconded to approve the August 2009 Accounts Payables in the amount of $521,655.03. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Works Committee minutes of August 12, 2009.

Vollenweider moved and D. Kickbusch seconded to approve the 2009 Street Tree Planting Bid to The Grounds Group Landscape Company LLC in the amount of $8,135.50. Upon a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

The Council received the Public Property Committee minutes of August 12, 2009.

The Council received the Personnel Committee minutes of September 2, 2009.

The Council received the Plan Commission minutes of September 3, 2009.

Kostka moved and Kunkel seconded to approve the Regular Council Meeting minutes of August 10, 2009. Motion carried unanimously.

D. Kickbusch moved and Kunkel seconded to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 986-09, RESOLUTION FOR URBAN FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM. Motion carried unanimously.

Sperber moved and LuMaye seconded to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 987-09, RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF KEWAUNEE WATERFRONT PLAN. Motion carried unanimously.

Mayor Blaha placed on hold the appointment to fill the Ambulance Director vacancy.

Vollenweider moved and Jeske seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
